I am a Remington 700 guy with little knowledge/history/experience with Winchester rifles. I acquired a Winchester Model 70 Deluxe chambered in 30-06 with a Monte Carlo wood stock and a 22in barrel, jeweled bolt and gloss hinged floorplate. Manufactured in 1968 (I believe). Gun is new in box, never fired, and all the original box, front and rear sights, manual, hang tags, warranty card, etc. Any estimate on value?
1968 is the first year they made significant changes to the pushfeed model 70. It is far better than the 64-67 rifles. However, if you are not sure of its manufacture date all estimates regarding value can go out the window. Pictures would be great in a thread like this. If it is truly a '68 model 70 it is worth approximately $5-700.00 in the condition you describe. Places like gunbroker may get more and places where I shop, it would be more like $400.00. So the price range is anywhere in that broad spectrum. I will say that this model is not as desirable as others such as the XTR featherweight or Classic model 70.

In that condition with the box, $700+ easily. If you listed it on Gunbroker, who knows what it would go for...with prices today, I wouldn't be surprised to see over $1k.
I'm the box it's a 1000 rifle anywhere in the country, people love Winchester's and go Gaga for in the box rifles, I'd give you 700 today and sell for 950 in a day to someone I know without advertising.

It is a nice rifle. I didn't realize in the OP that it was a deluxe model. I researched it a bit more. According to Rule, the Deluxe model was introduced in 1965 and then discontinued in 1971. A rifle like what the OP has is somewhat of a collectors model. Its good that it is a '68 model, as I stated earlier, that was the year they really fine tuned the new model 70. It took a few years for Winchester to work the bugs out. They went as far as asking gun writers and others to put in suggestions on how to make these rifles better in 1967. So out comes the new and improved model 70 in 1968. Other improvements were hand cut checkering. The 1965-1967 Deluxe model had stamped checkering, which some thought was "gaudy", according to Rule. I could see this rifle selling for $1,000.00 in auction. Maybe even more, like you are suggesting. Thanks to the OP for posting pics. Rifle and box look great.
