I've got birds all over my hotspot that's just a few miles from home.

I've seen videos on how to do it but was wondering if there's any difference in a left wing call versus a right wing call?

Not in sounds but the way they would look - or is after cutting down the 3 pieces of each would they basically look the same because the ends are removed? Thanks.

I made one several years ago. Killed a 'bearded hen' in NC ( which are legal) combined with the trumpet end from a jake.

Can't remember which side of the wings I used.

Used it + a home made slate call on a 2 year old public land bird in SC.

Lol.... That bird was so hot, any remotely turkey sounding call got a gobble...killed him at 25 yards.
Pretty much self defense.

They are really cool calls

If I could just figure out how to post pictures......😖!
Yes, I make we wingbone yelpers.
....and yes, there is a difference in the left and right wing bones. Each of the three bones has a particular curvature.
I can't tell which side is the which once the call is assembled.
When making calls, I make certain to keep right and left wing bones separate. I've never tried to make calls with a mixture of bones. It kinda grates on my OCD I guess.
I haven't made a call in quite a few years. I've had some health problems that kept my on the sidelines.
After 2 surgeries and a chance encounter, I'm back! A little slower, but back!

Here's a link to a photo I took this morning.

I've made several over the years. I carry one every time I hunt. I've called in a 4 or 5 over the years with only a wingbone.

The mouth end of a wingbone call also makes a good striker for a slate. The bell shape amplifies the call sounds like playing a trumpet.

Renegade50, there is more than one way to skin a cat! LOL!

I post over on Field & Stream. What I've posted are links to posts I've made there that I can link to from here. 😃!

NOTE: the longer the call, the lower the pitch. A fall killed hen makes THE ultimate call.
One Thanksgiving, I rescued the wings off a whole turkey before cooking.
I suppose it was because it was a domestic bird, but the wing bones turned chalky when they were boiled.

Here's a link to an interesting article I "wrote" (?) for charlieelk. His site is now defunct, but this article lives on!

I've never tried one as a striker but, will try that sometime.
