Well, my kid is anyway, which means I am too!
The MT sheep, goat, and moose results are out, and Cody drew a ewe tag for Rock Creek. I'm pretty excited, and would be coming plumb unhinged if it was a ram tag. But, a person actually stands a chance of drawing one of these, and doesn't have to wait seven years to apply again. Not a bad deal, especially for a kid.
He's planning to use his bow, although I may carry his rifle for backup. I know a guy who killed a dandy ram with a bow over there a couple of years back, & called to put the pump handle on him last night. Going to have to pay him a visit with topos in hand.
Alas, those critters are safe from me for another year. That's OK. A big bull elk is my top priority anyway.
With Cody's usual luck, he'll probably get an elk right off in archery season, and then a sheep a week later, and he'll be just insufferable....
