I don't know anything about the guy but he doesn't have much faith in his plane or his pilot skills, but jumping out of a plane in a panic situation he remembers to use his selfie stick and has outside cameras mounted on the plane including one that would show him jumping out?

Always wanted to learn how to fly, much less own a plane.

IIRC and if it's the same one - he did it for internet clout and insurance on the plane. I can't imagine giving up the ability to fly and the means for that. As a non-pilot, I find his tipping point where he felt he had to jump to be rather early...

yeah staged!....he don't need no stinking license.
I did see a gravel bar he could most likely have put that light plane down on, but if you're not much of a pilot why risk it when you can make a viral video and have a parachute?

Maybe that "engine failure" was caused by friction- - - -an insurance policy rubbing up against a payment book? I've seen a few expensive cars suffer the same fate- - - -a mysterious fire in the middle of the night! He was also conveniently able to document the whole situation with multiple cameras! He's got a promising future in the fertilizer business, and he can make his own product!

No fire after a crash usually means it’s out of gas. Lots of things don’t line up.

Too bad it didn’t start a fire that could have run him down.

Leaving a water source while dehydrated in unknown rough country when it is already dark is a further mark of pure genius. Or staged. I'm leaning toward latter- too much camera presence.

At least he didn't pontificate/worry about sanitizing the water before drinking. (Giardia is 2-3 days away - drink first, crap later. BTDT.)

No fire starting materials? Basic survival kit in plane? Yeah - a fire (camp or plane) would have attracted attention, probably. Or at least possibly.

"no idea where I am". ??? Really?

I saw roads and rivers below, and it looked like he had altitude to maneuver over , close, or toward one before bailing.

But I'm just a ground pounder, not a pilot.

He sure panicked when he had LOTS of wind under his wings. He had lots of time and options to make a dead stick landing. I agree this is totally staged.

That video is so fake, lots of clues to point that out. the first one is when he starts to leave the plane. No wind effect with his cap or clothing.

No, the first one was him waving around a bag of weed on camera. And later whining about a scratch on his arm when he just bailed out of a plane and crashed it?Who was filming him walking cross country, some of those shots were obviously not selfies

I could go on.

Well, I though somebody here might have more information on this guy, apparently not.

He flew it alone, he jumped, he walked out, none of that's in question.

Lots of airplane savvy types on YT pointing out a lot of things that makes it appear to be intentional, FAA seem to agree with that but there isn't much they can other than make him surrender his license for a reckless act.

Can't imagine the Forest Service not giving him some sorta fine.

As much time as I spend in our National Forests I'm not too keen on the idea of some jerk randomly letting a plane crash wherever it might land.

It's said he removed the wreckage, it's also been said that plane was for sale and as "parts only"

Seems a little big but I know there is very little regulation over experimental aircraft, if it qualified.

The crap YouTubers will do for views...

FAR Part 45. Aircraft over 30 years old 2" registration numbers. Probably on tail. Looks like an old Taylorcraft.
