I’m looking to sell the following rifle:

Savage Model: 340C
Caliber: 30-30 Winchester
Bolt Action Rifle
Detachable Magazine
Open Sites
Removable Scope Mount

(SCOPE NOT INCLUDED)

Bore & rifling appears to be shiny & in really good condition

Blued metal has some spotting

Scope mount has scratches

Stock has handling marks & signs of use

Stock has a small crack near left rear corner of the action, it appears to only be cosmetic. I circled it in the closeup photo.

I’d say it’s in decent condition for a vintage hunting rifle & looks pretty nice for it’s age. But it would need refinishing to be a what I’d consider a collector.

I can email more photos if you’re interested.

I’m asking $350 + shipping.
US only & must ship to FFL.

Free bump. The 222 I have listed has the exact same crack. It is common and as you said, merely cosmetic. These are great little rifles that you can load pointed bullets for.

Free bump. Nice. Mine handled pointy bullets very well and cast bullets even better. I made the mistake of letting my 9 yo grandson get behind it. His first center fire smile. Guess who has it now? I do have visitations rights though. smile smile

Same here. I shot my first buck with this rifle - fine gun for a youngster starting out.

That exact model rifle is responsible for more venison, than ALL the other deer rifles I know of, combined! An old Scottish fellow that befriended our family, when we moved to the country, had one. At the time he was almost 80, got at least one deer with it every year since he bought it when it first came out. That was 40yrs ago, great old guy and neighbor, great rifle as well!

Agreed, was my first. Still have it.

My mother bought it for my father in their first wedding anniversary. She was 20 and he was 22. That was 50 years ago.

I love mine and would never let it go. Shoots under an inch at 100 yards with any 150gr factory ammo you can find.

Bump for a great rifle. Wish someone would chamber the .30-30 in a bolt action again. I’d love a Winchester XPR or something of that sort.
