The government could regulate and tax it to generate revenue. They could have drive-ins for quickies and hummers - you could just sit in your car and move the seat back.
Seems like the perps in Washington would go for that themselves - especially if they lowered the age limit of the girls (or boys).

They'd have to get unions involved.....nobody wants an old hooker with lots of seniority.

Oddly enough - I remember reading that prior to 1941 the most common way for a male to have their first sexual encounter was via a brothel.
It was fairly common prior to WWII for whatever reason.
Tyrone - it might break families but back then, they weren't as broken - probably has other reasons but just FWIW.

The only difference between "politician" and "prostitution'" is the fact that the hooker will admit she's for sale to the highest bidder. Our elected officials, from the local city councilman to the "president" keep denying the obvious. Half of the municipal water board in a little backwoods Tennessee town nearby is facing criminal charges for embezzlement of public funds right now!

A lot of reasons including because it destroys families. Prostitution couldn’t come close to the destruction of families the welfare state causes. Prostitution is legal in one form or another in most every country other than the US. Even many Muslim countries have a temporary marriage that is just a front for prostitution. Street walking is usually illegal but call girls are legal and easy to find almost anywhere in Europe.
