What’s your favorite rifle in 308 Winchester, how’s its setup what do you use it for? I’ve killed whitetail with a 308 BLR and Sierra Bullets short to medium range. Great performance

Savage 99. Love it because it has sentimental value since it was a gift from my father, and has killed everything I've shot it at, including over a dozen moose.

I got one of those cheap Mauser M-12s last year and it is pretty sweet.

I'm usually a bolt-gun fane, but it's hard to beat a well-designed AR10, I'll admit. Great hog and deer rifle, generally with rather low recoil.

Sauer 202 fullstock carbine, with Karl Kaps 2-10x50 scope in Leupold QD mounts and another 1-4x Leupold with Illuminated dot reticle. It is very accurate, handy ( and heavy) and is nicely shootable from all positions. I use it for hunting from elevated blinds and tree stands with the big scope, and stalking with the small scope. Recoil is negligible, power is adequate for moose and elk. It is a keeper.

165 SSTs hammer whitetails out at 400 yards with ease. Can’t find another true SA, .473” bolt having light recoil that shoots 110 grain bullets through 200 grain bullets with no specialized twisting. The 1-10 twist with all bullet weights is incredibly accurate from most factory barrels, especially when a great bedding job with free floated barrel is performed. The SA 308 WCF is a solid performer on 95% of the worlds game animals and for its case size, low recoil, multiple bullet weights, available components, easily managed hunting trajectories, efficiency and accuracy really has no equal in my opinion.

Killed my first 6 deer with a Browning BLR in 308 Win.,and then went with other calibers, but it would be hard to beat a 308 Win for most hunting in the lower 48

Kimber Montana would have to be mine. It continues to fill the freezer and is awesome to carry.

While there's no love for them around this forum, my go to .308w is a Browning A-bolt Stalker with boss , as of yet no big game have been harmed, but it works well as a walking varminter, loaner, and truck gun with 155gr Bergers.

An older M7 that was trued/rebarreled by Mickey Coleman many years back. I've made odds/ends changes to the overall rifle through the years and it's been beat on...a lot... It's killed truckloads of deer. It's one of the "hunters" that I shoot regularly. I've used 155 Scenars, 165 BTSPs, 150 NBT's, and shot up a ton of factory ammo in it. No idea the round count but it still shoots a tight group and it's still a favorite, especially in wet weather.

Current specs are:

Stainless M7 action
stainless Douglas XX #2 at 22"
Cerakoted by EddieF years back, cerakote has a fair amount of scratches and wear but no flaking
edge stock, pillar and full length bedded, spongebob paint
Badger Ord M5 BM, rear tang opened to 1/4-28, MDT flush fit 3 round mags
DNZ low 30mm mounts with level on one ring
3-10 SHV Forceplex w/illum - 3d printer sand to fit zero stop on elevation
I think it's right at 7 lbs all up with 3 rounds and mt sling.

I've got back and forth on mounts but he DNZ lows keep it low enough for a good cheeck weld. Rattle can paint just can't take the whiskers.

My favorite was a Kimber Longmaster, most accurate rifle I ever owned, sacrificed to a pressing financial need of the automotive nature.

You can’t own them all, but you can enjoy a lot of them, even if only for a while….
