I picked this rifle up NIB about a year ago, reminds me of an Ultralight. I'm finding out they aren't being made anymore, anyone have one and how do you like it? American made also. Thanks.

I have one in 243 Win. Supposedly made with a Kreiger barrel, mine shoots very well and has a nice adjustable trigger.
Medics bury their mistakes..

I have not owned a MK V anything that did not shoot extremely well, maybe I should play the Lotto?

If I recall correctly, the Super Predator were basically ULW but without the stainless barrel. Also had a tan vs blue spiderweb stock. The barrels are Krieger but not Krieger premium cut rifle barrels. They were the Criterion Krieger barrels which were button rifled. (May be mistaken on how the barrels were made)
Nice light weight rifle. Uses a different base than standard MKV Weatherby so be careful and don't get them mixed up. The action is different. It's a six lug action vs a 9 lug action. Also the bolt is smaller. This smaller action and thin barrel is how they get the rifle so light.
My ULW 30-06 had to get re-bedded and now it shoots pretty good for about three shots in a row. After that the barrel is to warm and starts to open groups up. I don't think I will need to shoot more than that for hunting. Recoil isn't to bad for such a lightweight rifle. I don't use it that much because the 30-06 is boring but I feel like I should always have a 30-06.

I had one in 7-08 and it was a shooter. I stupidly traded it for something else I didn’t need.

I have one in 7mm-08, the barrel contour is different then the ULW and weighs about 1/2 pound more. I'm still doing load development but it's looking good so far. I have owned a few ULW's and many other Mark v's. The SPM to me balances better than the ULW's in the hands. Reminds me of the 338-06 SBGM I like an idiot sold. One reason I found out later on is that the 338-06 barrel had a larger diameter as the #1 they used was too thin to drill a 338 caliber in the barrel. I think they used the same in the SPM.
BTW, I think these were only made 2001-2004, mine I bought about a year ago as new old stock

First gen ulw were grey with stainless snout, super biggame master was the same with tan stock, black stainless barrel, super predator master was tan stockheavy stainless barrel
Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
Ain’t easy havin pals.
