The past 10 days or so he wants to go outside every night at around 2am. It's not a bathroom thing, he just wants to be out, so I just let him go.

This morning at 5am the inside female dog starts barking. I go outside to see what's going on and there is my 70 pound male dog just standing there, not 5 feet away from a big doe eating clover. She doesn't seem concerned in the least about him and he's just sniffing around. I call to him, he looks back at the deer then walks slowly back to the house.

Could the deer be his new buddy? A couple of other mornings when I got up, he's in that same area watching the section of woods she comes out of. Dogs continual amuse me.
