Grrrrrrrr. Decades ago I read a short science fiction story that I recall as "A Better Mousetrap". It had to do with astronauts from earth that happen upon larger and larger (asteroids?) filled with gems, referred to as 'busters'.. Those who find 'em bring them back to earth and they get rich.. As time goes by, bigger and bigger busters appear.. Then, one day, at some big party, the talk goes to the busters and someone mentioned that a HUGE one was found and is on the way back to earth..

While the party was going on, one person asked about the time - then wondered why the horizon was already glowing long before sunup..

I've searched Stephen King, Richard Bachman (King's early name) and every other danged area I can try and have found bupkis.. Anyone ever read this story and can figure out where I can find it?? I need it for a 'letter to the editor' I'm trying to put together..

Any help very much appreciated..

True story: Mom taught country school. The facilities were behind a hedge which was behind the play area. First day of the new school year, a new first-year student came up and needed to go. Mom explained where the building was located. Boy left, came back, and said that he couldn't find it. Mom took him to the window and pointed out the path. Boy left, came back, said that he still couldn't find it. Mom asked one of the older boys to accompany him. They left, came back after a decent amount of time. Older boy said, "He had his shorts on backwards".
