Last year I tagged out first two days and it sucked. Got one with 14” contender on opening day and the next day with my contender 28 gauge. This year opening week was a little slow but things picked a up week 2. First bird with encore 20ga 15 yds and second bird 14” contender 410 at 10 steps. Word of advice!
Enjoy it while you can!
Things I can recall:
1) two birds, two shots about 30/45 seconds apart. TWICE! (different seasons)
2) first (only) archery turkey
3) first double beard
4) longest shot with my .22 Hornet (150 yards)
5) first turkey with a rifle
6) first turkey with a scoped handgun
7) first turkey with a handgun
8) first handmade wing bone yelper
9) calling turkeys with that yelper
Lots of memories. More memories to make!
These days, recalling memories is much easier than making new ones! 😉!
That's why I write them down! Won't be long bbn until reading is all I'll have left.
