About ANY American made car in 1979 was a real dog. Big blocks included! All the smog crap.

Had a slightly warmed up 265 CUI small block Chevy in a 1957. It would have smoked any 1979 made in America that was stock.

Those Buick 455 were beasts. First engine I ever saw run on a dyno was a pretty well built Buick 455 going into a GS.
Thing was impressive.

My folks had an Oldsmobile, Delta 88 I think. It had a big 455 Rocket. Lots of power!
