I wonder why those that utilize baby formula don't have a stockpile of it?
Most of the baby mommas around here are section 8's/WIC/ welfare anyway, and don't pay out of pocket for anything. If they had half a brain, they'd have a closet full of formula and diapers
I've had similar arguments with girlfriends about kotexes. If you know you're having a a period each month, why don't we pick up 8 or 10 packages next trip to the store?
Same thing with toilet paper. Don't know about you darlin, but I'll still be wiping my butt for years to come. Let's get a cart full of TP
? ? ?
It's been a LONG time since I had to worry about buying formula, But it was painful enough to remember all these years later. That Chit was not cheap and when you are a young family and a limited income, it's tough enough to make it to the next paycheck. There was no way we could "stock up" on that sort of thing at that point in our life.
I think as we get older and life gets a little easier we tend to forget the hand to mouth existence many of us started out adulthood with. Sure, now that the mortgage is paid off and I'm (supposedly) in my peak earning years, there's a little extra in the checking account for "stocking up", but it wasn't always like that.
They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

Excellent post , Many of us were once in that boat ! Sometimes we tend to forget .
These young parents caught off guard must be offspring of the dudes that since January 20 2008 disregarded the idea of stocking up on components and turdy-turdy ammo.
Have 6 shells to their name
My Daughter put it out on FB that she has frozen breast milk for anyone who really needs it. She doesn't buy formula for my granddaughter.
I hope this is the most disgusting thing I read today.

No schiitt!!
The last time that bear ate a lawyer he had the runs for 33 days!
My mother used to make it. I looked online and there are plenty of recipes that don't take many ingredients or seem overly difficult. If I couldn't buy it, I'd make it just like Mom used to. Becoming dependent on the govt for anything is a really bad plan.
You get out of life what you are willing to accept. If you ain't happy, do something about it!
