So the youngest of our three boys graduates from Mizzou today. He is getting a civil engineering degree with a minor in construction management. So we’re headed up there to party all weekend and celebrate no more tuition payments finally after 20 something years of catholic grade school, catholic high school and now college. The other two also Mizzou grads, one in mechanical engineering and the other a chemical engineering grad.

ME, ChemE, and CE. Good deal, good careers await all 3. My buddy got the civil engineering degree from Vanderbilt and made big bucks in the safety dept for the railroad. Is now a retired millionaire in Florida.

Cheers Congrats on getting them "off the payroll" so to speak, it's a great feeling. I bet you guys are hell on the local pocket protector market!! JK, we have 2 out of 3 engineers. I just can't resist a good engineer joke. Do you know how you can tell if an engineer is an extrovert? When he talks to you, he looks at your shoes.

The chem e is totally kicking ass right now. He got recruited into engineering sales back in January so he is no longer working at a refinery. Mech e is in Chicago and doing well with the exception of the cost of living there. Our chem E actually got a degree in chemical and biological engineering and he's totally kicking ass too. A lot of his college work was creating web-searchable databases for organic compounds used in cancer research and he was recruited out of school by google. He spent a year there, got a few IT certifications and now works for an IT company that develops cloud-based solutions for data management and analysis. They pay him a schitload of money and even moved him and his GF to Sydney because they wanted to live there. Lives 2 blocks from the beach, works from home, and loves it.

Someplace i still have the picture of y wife and I dropping the last tuition check in the mil for our youngest. That and making the last house payment were both great days.
