Today am prepairing some shelves to hang in th garage and finishing a brake job on a 69 Chev. Two brothers from nearby (ages 15 and 17) have advertised their "want to work and do almost anything" per hour will be here to undertake and help with a wide variety of tasks I have not been able to complete. So will be prepping for that just before dark. Tomorrow will be a good trial run to see if they will be brought back for more work later (I have a hunch that they are very good), and after trying to stay ahead of them I will be beat by dark. Sunday a quiet day - will play prelude music before the service, chat with nice folks after, and later enjoy some of Madelyn's delicious food. Maybe take an old truck or two out for short rides before dark.

We were going to the coast and the gulf stream Saturday for some mahi and wahoo fishing. Mother Nature changed those plans.
Went to local gun shop this afternoon .
I scored a brick of small pistol magnum primers, 100 , 100 gr. 257 Barnes “x” bullets, 50 100gr. 257 Barnes TSX bullets, 200 Speer .243 85 gr. BTSP’s , 50 Nosler .257 100 gr. Ballistic tips and a loading tray.
120.00 I felt like I was in a time machine.

Maybe Friday the 13th ain’t that bad after all.

Tomorrow gonna cut a tree down for a buddy in the morning, then shoot sporting clays in the afternoon. Wife and I going to another couples house for a small get together in the evening which will turn into us guys watching hockey playoffs and pounding beers while the wimmins drink wine in the kitchen.

Sunday is yard work day and maybe go shoot pistols

Probably aranging funeral services, or at least medical form fill-outs.

67 years old and she buys a Honda 250 last night....

Second childhood - she has nostalgia for the Trail 55 and 90 days, 50+ years ago, riding out to change irrigation on her Dad's farm

Probably going senile as well as crazy.... I just hope that if she doesn't die in a ditch somewhere, she can find home. She doesn't do that well in malls, let me tell you! Never has. I don't have time to go looking for her.

I'm running her for President in 2024. Working up the platform now.

If it ain't got 4 wheels, or a track and two skis, I ain't riding whatever it is. smile

Catfish Derby in Clearlake Oaks CA this weekend. Expecting 1000 entries. $5000 for big fish. Must be brought in alive and released. Typically takes 25 lbs to be in the money. Water is way low this so there won’t be fishing off our dock this year.

No plans to go anywhere. Had a severe thunderstorm move through today with gusty winds going to checkout garden in the morning. Will grill some fresh zucchini from the garden for lunch then take it easy. Sunday will fry some catfish, fries and hushpuppies for lunch. Then get the boat ready for catfishing early Monday morning. then take it easy.

My middle son and DIL are here for a week. A range day today (really liking my Ruger PC9), car work tomorrow and smoking tri-tip, baby backs and jalapeno cheese filled bacon wrapped chicken breast on Sunday, his 31st birthday. Eldest son will be joining us.

I am 20 minutes from the Kendellia Dance Halle and the Anhalt Dance Halle but we don't dance. Well once at our wedding.

Got my deer food plots put in yesterday and finished this morning. Just started raining so timing was as good as it gets.

Gonna finish up the weekend at the Lake with friends fishing, BBQing, frying fish and then watching the eclipse Sunday night out on the pier.

Life is good and I’m thankful for it.

I’m enjoying this retirement gig, every day is the same.

Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.

The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.

Finish a 24hr shift here in an hour or so. Go fishing. Back for another 16 hours at 1600.

I don't see doing much tomorrow.

Drove down to Laramie , Wyo. yesterday. Nice drive been looking for this day for 4 years, my daughter graduates from University of Wyo. with honors today. When she started I only asked her to do her best, still hard to believe she's graduating with a 4.0 GPA. So today is not about me but the daughter and the ex, us as it pertains. Colo Springs next weekend for the Sharps Collector association show that's for me....mb

We're still in the Glades pounding Cock.

Flave, if you're watching, here is a little info.
One of the best spots we've hit so far is here.

[Linked Image]

First three ponds on the right, they're loaded with Cock.

[Linked Image from nps.gov]

It's a little bit of a push getting in, the bike has been helpful, most the trails are overgrown and muddy.

[Linked Image]

Still have the RV setup at Skunkape Headquarters..

[Linked Image]

They are hitting strong on micro-minnows, the smallest you can get.

All sizes...

There are Talapia are thick as well, and great fighters on the fly rods. Some monsters are lurking in these ponds.

[Linked Image from cdn.shopify.com][Linked Image from cdn.shopify.com]

Colorful basterds and plenty good eating, just like the Peacocks.

[Linked Image from cdn.shopify.com]

Gotta watch your stringer if you leave one in place long you lose everything.

Continued due to image overload..
