Left hand stainless steel MRC 1999 short action with magnum bolt face for sale (any WSM cartridge, 6.5 PRC) This is from the original run of actions when the company first opened up.
Never had a barrel installed.

Also have PTG aluminum bottom metal if anyone is interested

Action shipped in conus -$650

Extra PTG bottom metal-$100 (will trade for same bottom metal in long action)

No…it won’t fit Rem 700 stock.

It’s essentially a copy of a Winchester Model 70 action.

LeftHunter,

I’m aware that some of these early actions were very rough. How does yours compare?

Does it cycle smoothly?

Thanks,

Leftybolt

The bolt cycles smoothly. I just ran some 270 wsm and 6.5 prc rounds through it and it pulled all of them smoothly from the magazine. Granted they just fell out the front since there was no barrel to really force the round all the way up into the claw extractor but everything felt smooth to me

Man I smell a 7 SAUM! I bought 3 standards when they were taking orders. 2 are finished 1 not. All of mine are smith as silk. I heard some claimed they were rough but I’ve built loads for 12 MRC 99’s long and short and haven’t seen a rough one yet! Should be easy to hone and polish. GLWS. I MUST RESIST

I love the Montana actions. If I were left handed I'd have bought this as soon as it hit the classifieds

OSU,

You got a good action. I was racking my brain trying to come up with a wildcat on the 350 Remington that I needed. I’m glad you got it and will be anxious to see what you build. I’m thinking a 424-350 RM would be a dandy. 😁 Kind of a short action, belted 404 Jeffery. Best of luck with whatever you build.

Thanks jwp & mart. This could wind up being a SAUM of some sort, not sure yet. I am open for ideas on a stock. Who makes them?

Sakohunter264 had a nice custom MRC built. I believe he used an MPI stock.
