Uh, not true. Some locks are EMP tested/approved. Liberty Safe's electronic locks are EMP tested. Sargent and Greenleaf has EMP-resistant electronic gun safe locks.

Unless you wrap the entire safe in a Faraday cage, the lock may work but any electronic sights such as red dots are going to fry. Also resistant doesn’t mean EMP proof. Kinda like the difference between a watch that is water resistant or one that’s waterproof.

Another reason to have a pre64 model 70 with open sights. LOL Not a red dot in my safe so I must be safe.

Securam Xtreme

I did find a place that has them in-stock and just ordered one to replace my keypad on my Browning safe.

Securam Xtreme in-stock

My Securam Xtreme dual lock arrived while I was away on business. If I can get a bunch of chores done, I might tackle installing it tomorrow. I'll report back on how it goes. The dual lock gets great reviews, it's a quality company and I'll now have the quick access of an electronic lock and the peace of mind of a dial lock reliability.
