And have taken up their place in the deer maternity ward. I'll introduce you to our three does. Chip is in front - she is a nine year old doe. Trouble is at the top left - she is a 6 year old doe. And Snip, their mom is at the far right looking away. She is 15 years old and that is the way her ears always look. She's really old with gray eye lashes, bad feet, but she is always grateful for another day. We don't name the bucks and the does will start chasing them away very soon. The one doe fawn is to the left of Trouble. We have tentatively named her T2. She is bold like Trouble, but worse.

Its all right to be white!! Stupidity left unattended will run rampant Don't argue with stupid people, They will drag you down to their level and then win by experience

Yeah, we started naming the deer on our property..... now I have to look for transient mean natured deer during deer season..... kind of not kidding. All I used to see was the butcher cuts.... They are very protective of their situation. There is another group of does (called the Alternate Family) that are the progeny of Snip's sister. When they come around Snip and Chip go into head down, ears back mode and chase them away. It's like they are saying - "these are our peeps, now stay away."

We have some free range chickens that graze and generally hang out with our yard deer. The older I get the more I just like to watch the critters. My wife has no problem switching into "just seeing the butcher cuts" mode when the season open. Thawing some backstrap overnight as I type.

I'd like to get to know the one hiding behind the bush better, she's cute!
