I bought an XL7 a couple of months ago. The rear action screw was to long so that had to be trimmed down. When putting it back together the factory plastic trigger guard cracked. That part may be impossible to find and I wanted a metal one if I could find it. Research led me to DIP products aluminum replacement for the Marlin Mod. 925. This guard fits several different rimfires and will also fit the Marlin XL/S series centerfire rifles. The rear bolt hole will have to be drilled to 1/4 inch, then your good to go.

I bought mine at Midwest Gun Works. They are now showing out of stock, but I'll post a link for everyone to see it.

I didn't have to, but I also put a wider bevel on the trigger guards front and rear holes so that the bolt heads fit better.
