I'm hunting a little closer to Home but its still a 4 hour drive. Stay at camp for 2 or 3 days then 4 hours back home. I still plan on hunting as much as I can.

Guessing that hunting might wane a bit, but poaching will blossom and maybe even handloading supplies will be in high demand. Lots of bullet casters, peeps making their own BP and maybe recharging primers. Interesting times ahead to be sure.
I am..........disturbed.

For now no, fishing twice a week 24 mile round trip to the launch. Deer hunting on our family land just hop on 4 wheeler 1-2 mile round trip depending on which stand I hunt.

No changes. Pretty cost effective already as I hunt close to home on the road system in Ketchikan or stay with family on POW. May put away more fish this year but we stay fairly stocked up.
Yup.

I can't see anything changing hunting wise. We called off our great loop boat adventure. And will more than likely snapper and grouper fish instead of kingfishing this summer. I wish Trump wouldn't of bailed the oil companies out and let them suffer like we are now. It didn't do him or US any good.

Rene see if your meat counter will save their pork trimming for you.
My brother owns a store and I get he and my nephew to save back trimmings for me. Most stores no.longer have a butcher. Their meat comes in boxes, trimmed and ready to be packaged. A pretty good alternative is "pork butts". They're pretty fatty but have quite a bit of lean. Just add enough to get the fat you need. I use beef fat. Pork fat looks better. It's cleaner looking, tasteless and seems to hold spice flavors better. Beef fat is yellow(ish), may have some "beefy" flavor and doesn't seem to hold spices as well, but I have family and friends who don't care for pork. AND......beef fat is more available, depending on where you shop. YMMV!

No changes.
99% of my stuff is close to home. I'm not a "book a 10k hunt for elk that some guide puts me on" kinda guy. I hunt and fish to relax and get away from day to day BS. If I was spending big money on it - I'd just stress. No thanks.

Gas gets $6-7 a gallon and diesel is $8-9 a gallon, won't have to worry about hunting, it will come looking for you and your stuff.
We are about to find out.

Won't be riding the SXS to the back 40 to hunt. Will only use it for retrieval.

It wont make much difference to most people. The tags out west will be all sold out . As for me , I will actually have to drive more . i have a bear tag in Northwest Wis. it is 486 miles round trip to my cabin and back . I need to bait at least 7 or 8 times, and then hunt. I will combine it with fishing though cause I can also fish up there. I will likely not go to upper Michigan this year. That is about 500 miles round trip and a hotel, so last year it came to $300 once . That is a lot of money for me. I will hunt 5 miles from home , but it will be just for deer on public land.
