Folks,

From what I've read, if I can find one, I'd like to try a Canjar in a No.1a 243 Winchester.

I would like a personal opinion of both the ease of installation and use of the Canjar set trigger?

*** If anyone has a Canjar they would like to sell please send me a pm.***

Thank you in advance for your time help and consideration.

I got a #3 with one.
Dunno what all was done to rifle, but its good enough i dont even use the set feature.
Im gonna pull it off and put it on my dads old B in
22 250.

Kinda neat trigger. I first shot one way back on a M70 pre 64 varmint in .243 ( coworkers rifle ).

IMHO a set trigger proly best used on a varmint rig.
Dont consider a 1A such a candidate.

Suppose one could just not use set feature like I am doing w the #3. But then a trigger job makes more sense ( why have a set feature and never use it? )

If the trigger sucks might want to call Penrod Precision.
He did my buds 1A in .243

My Canjar is on a varmint rig, moving to a different one.

I have had a couple of them but am down to just one at present. It is on a M77 tang safety and has the set trigger feature. It has been in about twenty five years and no problems. It was a fairly easy install.

The other one was in a No. 1 and installation was difficult even with instructions. I happened to know the owner of Canjar after Matt passed away and lived close to the shop so they wound up putting it in for me after the gunsmith said he could not get it done. Once installed it was fine. This was in a 1A 7 Mag.

The set trigger is fine for sighting in work and if you shoot a lot of targets it is also fun. I never use it when hunting.

Some of the parts are really small, especially the screws, and I did have one or two back out over time. Since they are long out of business be sure to keep an eye on all the parts so you don't lose anything.

I have a No.1 with the Canjar and one with the Kepplinger.

Buy the Kepplinger.
