Today, I traded into an interesting rifle. It appears to be a mid to late 90's Remington Mountain Rifle DM in .270 Win. The kicker is that the barrel appears to be factory, is a factory Remington Barrel and is 24" long. I dont recall a standard chambering in 24" barrel on the early Mountain Rifles. Any thoughts on if this is just a Mountain Rifle, or could you order a custom barrel length from the Custom Shop?

Does it have the factory warnings roll marked on the barrel?

Mountain rifle stock on a standard rifle or a “take-off” barrel installed.

I tried to delete the post, but it was too late.
when I did get my hands on the gun and tape measuer, the barrel was 22 inches. The angle of the photograph made the barrel look longer and the owner was incorrect in stating it was a 24" barrel. I beleive the gun to be a standard Mountain Rifle DM in 270. Thanks all.
