That's a helluva trophy. Need a rec. for a taxidermist?
l told my pap and mam I was going to be a mountain man; acted like they was gut-shot. Make your life go here. Here's where the peoples is. Mother Gue, I says, the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world, and by God, I was right. - Del Gue
There was three of them flying around the patio in a triangle pattern. Watched them for a while and said to myself,"Self, I can kill those bees!". They look like they're trying to breed. Nos ir, not on my watch! LOL
Killed three so far and now only see one here and there.
They gittin smart.
22LR too short range. What you want is the magnum. Double the effective range and alot more shot.

We load walnut polishing media in 38 Special shells for wood bees. You can shoot ‘em in the barn. Hell, you could probably shoot your shoe without injury, but it’ll knock ‘em out of the air reliably at close range.

FYI... any petroleum distillate will kill bees, wasps et al. Suffocates their breathing and they can't fly. Stomp them while vulnerable if you are so inclined/OK with killing things.
Old video I found...
Yellow Jackets vs 1997 Dodge 3500 (with the windows rolled UP)...
Listen to those fellas pepper my windshield... immediately before a bit of front wheel ground pounding grinding...
Tannerite is also an option, but my neighbor Dave is a war vet and not so keen on boom-booms. Kindness abides.
BTW... Good shooting Roy!
If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.
