Got some days to use, use or lose it…..

Floated a nearby creek with my dad.

Not too many folks fish it. It can be work in places.

Have to get out and drag the John boat over logs and sand bars.

Mess of Bass, bream and catfish.

Bass on spinning reels. Bream on crickets and red worms. Catfish on red worms.

Hopefully have crop of catalpa worms before long and try it again.

It’s a good spot to fish. No many folks will put a John in and fish it.

You can’t hardly walk the bank and fish it.

We call them ‘red bellies’.

I think the real name is red ear sunfish? Or red breast?

That’s about as big as they get. Smaller than bluegills.

Off again today.

Not as many caught as last Monday.

Overcast, must have had something to do with it.

Planning a big family fish fry for Memorial Day.

These 2 trips will be enough plus the added fixins.

Fish.
Slaw
Hush puppies
Fries
Fried dill pickles.
Fried fresh jalapeños.

Right now, I’d trade rain for fishing.
My garden is looking poor.
