If you want to convert an existing lower you own into an SBR, Form 4? It would be added to an existing Trust.

Form 1 I believe since you would be converting it yourself. Form 4 if you buy a rifle already in SBR configuration.

I have a 10 inch SBR in the works now with ATF. New identifying ID engraved on the receiver. Waiting on paperwork.

I did a form 1 E-file on this HK couple years ago. The system sucked and is very dated, but I did get it back in 5 months.

What is yours and is it still possible/practical? I'm not real sure I understand the question but I'll try. My gun is the HK SP5. The stock is the fixed A2. Possible? As in possible to find one? There's quite a few on gunbroker. Practical? As in the 9mm cartridge or the platform? As far as 9mm subguns go, the mp5 has pretty well stood the test of time. There's newer platforms out there that have more bells and whistles, but the mp5 still holds its own IMO.

I should have worded my question better.
The SP5 is a pistol, correct?
To add a fixed or folding stock (not a pistol brace), it then must be classified as a SBR, which I am OK doing.
How complicated is it to add the stock to the pistol? Meaning, does HK do this or is it an easy install?
My local gun store makes it sound like it requires a shade tree mechanic type process to weld and “rig it” if you get my point. I’m questioning the mechanical conversion process; not the legal.

It comes as a pistol. As seen here. To make it an SBR, order the stock of your choice, remove ONE pin, and slap it on. 20 seconds.

That's the beauty of the AR platform....and one of the reasons I think they are so popular. You don't have to BE a gunsmith or PAY a gunsmith to make alterations to an AR. "YouTube" is your friend! 😉 LOL!
