psa has that norma 308 ammo for 14.99 a box. The once fired brass is worth a good portion of that price.

100% this! It is disgusting to me that folks would want a discount or sale instead of recognizing the reason for Memorial Day. I refuse to utilize any sale in reference to Memorial Day unless its entire purpose is to go back toward memorial efforts.

Retailers are always looking for ways to increase sales. I really don't think their intent is to defame or disrespect the fallen.

I couldn’t find that deal. Just looked and it was 24.99
Maybe I’m missing something.
And just now went out of stock.

TrueShotGunClub.com is having a Memorial Day sale that will give a percentage to Fallen Patriots. Here is their explanation:

"So for every order placed from today until May 31st, we’re donating x% of the sale to Fallen Patriots. Fallen Patriots has been helping the children of fallen service members obtain a college degree for the past 20 years. To learn more about Fallen Patriots, be sure to check out their website: https://www.fallenpatriots.org/

So not only do you get to take advantage of our competitive ammo prices, but you’ll be able to give back to fallen service members while doing it. So if you’ve been holding off on buying ammo, this Memorial Day weekend is the perfect time to make your purchase."

They have PMC Bronze 55gr FMJ for $9.18 per box of 20, and PMC X-TAC M855 62gr FMJ for $9.99, plus a couple of others to choose from.

On further consideration, you guys are right. Commerce should not cover sacrifice. You’re right.

Christmas, Easter, 4th of July,?

Labor day is blue collar, so screw that. Sales galore.
Thanksgiving? Hmmmm. Does it matter who we are thanking?

It's retail trying to stay afloat at this point in time.
Buy on Friday or Saturday. Or don't.
They sure as hell have nothing to do with folks ignoring the point
and instead, focusing on beer and food. Not even family like in the past.

shootem is right, it's shouldn't cover sacrifice.

It can't.

You can use it to.
Others can.

But I'd bet Memorial Day sales on main street get some folks to the parade.

That is a plus. Some of those will pause and think about it.

Get more out of it than the "Patriotic" who stand there every year waving a
flag. Because they like the fire trucks, and being seen with the flag.

Ever notice how many do all the right stuff when The Anthem is played.
With crystal clear eyes?

And the ones standing there, hands straight down, blinking?
Rubbing their eyes later, kinda hiding it.

It's all what the individual makes of it.

No one wants a sale INSTEAD OF recognizing the reason for Memorial day.
However, most here are blue-collar firearm enthusiasts and if I can save a few bucks on hobby-related items, well I think I can find time this long weekend to click "add to cart" AS WELL AS give thanks - especially to my grandpa who was on the Seafox off of Japan in '45.

Yep, that’s my take. My 10 yo’s middle name is Evard. Evard is a made up name. The Army turned down my wife’s Uncle Jenkin’s application because he was 16. USMC had no issue taking him in but changed his name to Evard J. Near as we can tell Evard isn’t a name in any language. His mom sewed a tiny flag on his pack. It was the first flag over Guadalcanal. The flag at Pease wasn’t. I have the letter from the military telling me the accidentally “Recognized” the wrong soldier. I responded my wife’s family has held the memory but doesn’t know about the flag dedication so don’t hurt another vet’s family.

Enjoy the holiday, save a few $, take a few moments to recognize why it’s a holiday. We polarize so many things. Let’s just enjoy the freedom to do what we please with it. Buy things, sell things, grill, drink, whatever freedom feels like to you.

I don't have a problem with those who take advantage of a sale, but personally have always avoided Memorial Day sales. Doesn't seem right profiting off a day set aside for those who are no longer here.

Have no problem going to the lake or whatever and enjoying the day, as I think everyone should enjoy the freedoms that are dearly paid for. Making money off it though isn't for me.

Hmmmm.......so the wife and I drove around 250 miles with $4.00 a gallon gas visiting the graves of our lost loved ones over the last two days. We started a flag program when my grandmother died at the small country cemetery where she and my grandfather were buried 10+ years ago. We along with the community donate flags every year. To date there are almost 150 flags in that little cemetery. Now I go to take advantage of a sale and I don't know the meaning? Interesting.

Yes, support bearings are shot, replace them all (probably two), but also the front and rear drum gaskets. While in there, a new belt and idler pulley too.

It's not hard at all, but I do wonder how the grease in getting inside the dryer drum. Check for defects.

More likely the grease is from your washer. That seal is more involved to replace, but not difficult.

The point is - the retailer should NEVER use Memorial Day as the reason for the sale. Call it "May Sale" or whatever but not Memorial Day Sale. I won't take part in a retailer riding the coattails of why we're observing this weekend to give me 10% off a mattress.
