Let's say Governor Scott decides to pass a law instant death penalty for a mass shooter. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars, straight to the chair. No funeral burn and dump the ashes in the ocean. Would the Democrats decide to defend the mass shooter

To take that a step further. Their names should never be mentioned. Total ananimety would preclude any form of "celebrity" so important to the youth of today.

Total agreement here. Mass killers should be taken out as quickly as possible. If one were to survive there should be a mandatory death penalty and none of this constant publicity of the shooter, thus giving the shooter the "fame" or notoriety that some of these sickos crave. The recent Buffalo NY mass shooting made me look up the 1901 assassination of President William McKinley, in Buffalo N.Y. on Sept. 14, 1901. While not a mass shooting the murderer was tried and convicted in a matter of weeks, received the death penalty and was put to death in the electric chair on October 29th of that same year. My; how things have changed over the years. Our current justice system should consider a timely system of trial and punishment in mass murder cases like we have seen recently. Might serve to deter some of criminally insane, homicidal maniacs that our current society seems so good at producing.

There are those who oppose the death penalty under any circumstances and they would argue it doesn't deter crime. I believe punishment should be administered quickly. Punishment is not meant to deter crime, it is meant to punish the offender and execution is a sure way to prevent second offenses.

IMMEDIATE death is FAR FAR too good for the pain they've caused. Give them time to think about what they did, and give them plenty of attention, let the world see what a murdering POS gets.
