Marlin Texas ( Falls County) had a county sheriff in the 40s and 50s named Brady Pamplin. He had been a Texas ranger. If I recall, a shooter barricaded himself in a house in Thornton Texas. Brady charged the house and shot the shooter while everyone else was waiting for an armored car. Brady was a bad ass. I think men like Lone Wolf Gonzalaus, Charles Askins and Bill Jodan would not have hesitated to take that sucker down.

What happens when you let bureaucrats control warriors.

Disagree, this is what happens when you let pussies and bullies wear badges. What God fearing man with a set of testicles could stand by and listen to that happen? Im sure we will never know the truth about it all, but if what I read about that border patrol agent taking care of it is true, THAT is what a man looks like and what ANYBODY wearing a badge SHOULD have done.

In the present day, Frank Hamer would never be considered for any law enforcement post. HOW SAD IS THAT?

I agree. They want a kinder, gentler, bachelor’s degree. Well rounded multi tool types, not a Hamer.

A small group of unaffiliated, never trained under the same program,
guys went in.

How?

The incident commander was holding?

So how did they go?

Why didn't others?

Back in the 1980's there was an incident between Sierra Vista and Bisbee at a religious institution. Arizona DPS officers were holding at the sheriff substation in Sierra Vista and had radio contact with officers on the scene. When deputies on scene started taking fire Ralph Milstead, director of DPS refused to release his officers to assist. One officer said screw this, those guys need help and left to help them. He was fired from DPS and later retired from the Cochise County Sheriffs Office. There is a book about it. Shootout at Miracle Valley.

Hell, Hamer was the only "Oxford" educated Texas Ranger ever!

Hamer would kill you deader than a doornail in a heartbeat if he thought you needed it, but there were times when he showed a lot more restraint than these yahoos today. There was one instance where he wouldn’t let them shoot s guy who had gone off his rocker and was taking potshots from his house.

Speaking of Hamer, the old guy that owns the ranch I deer hunt on south of Ozona swears he knew Frank. Whether true or not, some of the tales he tells around the table at night are very entertaining!

From a time when police had balls and brains.
And both were working together.

And Amerrica had a Justice system,
not a legal system.
