I have seen a few deer mounts like that, if I remember right though, they are normally straight on, like they are jumping a fence.

No, but the lady friend has a booth in the antique mall in Johnson City Tx and she sells the hell out of old deer head mounts. Always buying em at estate sales. Apparently people go all gaga over em.
