Do any of you know of any Smith's that do work on Marlins? I recently acquired a Marlin 336-44 magnum manufactured in 1965. It jams a little and has a feeding problem. I called Marlin and they don't work on anything older than 1983 so if any of you can recomend a good smith I'll appreciate it.

.
What about the one that is advertising just above this post? I have not used Brockman, but he is well known as a Marlin gunsmith.

The problems you are having were inherent to that 336-44mag chambering. It caused Marlin enough grief that they re-introduced the M1894 for pistol length cartridges. You have a low production rifle that may never be totally reliable. Some were reliable and still are. FWIW.
