Which would you use and why. The aluminum putty from Devcon costs twice as much, but I am not sure I want to use it. The shelf life of my previous container was not good IMHO.
I will be bedding a walnut stock for a Remington Model Seven.

I only used Marine Tex one time and it was horrible for me. It was brittle and chipped out too easy. Not sure what went wrong, but I never tried it again.

Get the grey MarineTex. It’s better and less prone to chip IME.

I use Devcon Steel Putty between the action and stock and around the pillars. I use Loctite 5 minute epoxy magazine well spacer.

Also, would the 2 oz Marine Tex grey be enough to bed the stock?

Get the grey MarineTex. It’s better and less prone to chip IME. The white is waterproof and designed for repairing gel coat, not really for structural uses. And you are right it is quite brittle.

The brown ProBed 2000 would be an excellent choice.

I hope he stays in business for a long time. Amen. Having used Pro Bed for over 20 years, it's always been excellent..especially in the area of long term stability. Good shootin' -Al

I used Devcon for years but swapped to Marine-Tex and never looked back. Never tried ProBed 2000 but hear good things about it.
I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

If there is an easier bedding epoxy to apply and a better final outcome I have yet to find it. I threw away Brownells acraglass years ago, have tried about everything except Devcon.

Oldelkhunter Are you talking about ProBed 2000 or Marine-Tex? Marine-Tex is not hard to use and I have had nothing but great results. YMMV

Probed 2000 and nothing is fool proof. The working time with Probed is fantastic, unlike other products that give you 15-20 minute work time.
