We try to always be polite about it but I’d never tell her I like something that isn’t good. I’d hate for her to keep making something that I don’t like and feed to guests. That would be embarrassing to her.

My wife is a great cook but if she tries to fix something new that doesn't taste good, I let her know it. She doesn't put up with my crap either. somehow we have been married over 50 years.

For the most part, we eat separately, as her Chinese notions about food don’t always taste good to me. There are exceptions, and she’s learned a good bit about Western baking, as well as becoming the Queen of the Air Fryer. I do most of the soup and traditional holiday cooking.
Notable exceptions to the above are her spring rolls and dumplings, including the big ones called bao zi, which are doughy things with various fillings. I like all that stuff.
What fresh Hell is this?
