I'm from SC but NC Highway Patrol troopers have had a very good professional program for over forty years - well respected by the professional community as well as the citizens on the street.

I wish we had more highway patrolmen on our interstates.....there a lot of reckless driving going on in both states

Thank you for posting that UNCCGrad. The gun shop I frequent often looks like a NC trooper sub station. The owner grew up with a trooper and has been best friends /hunting buddy with one of them. All the trooper I've met in there have been friendly and full of witty banter.

Nice story! Wish our PA troopers were more like that. They are well known to be azzholes with attitudes and even the local cops often dont get along with them. Ive known a few that were decent enough guys through the fire dept, but they were mostly guys who had been around awhile and were nearing retirement age. Its the younger ones on a power trip from their new found "authority" that always seem like the jerks.
