I finally wore out my last pair of Cabelas' cotton cargo pants after many years of good service. There are so many choices now my eyes cross when I start looking. So, 100% cotton (or maybe a little nylon or polyester for durability) so that they can be treated by Insect Shield. Subdued colors: brown, grey, tan, etc. - not camouflaged, BDU-styled or "tactical". Kneepad pockets would be nice because of, well, old knees. Made somewhere else than China, preferably. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I’ve heard a lot of guys and women say they look gay. I don’t care one way or the other. You mostly see Wranglers in Texas. No offense intended

“For the money” doesn’t mean much if the pants don’t measure up otherwise. All I buy now are Tru-Spec 24-7 Ascent, shorts as well as pants. Best pocket arrangement for me, lightweight ripstop material treated for stain resistance, internal pockets for kneepads, stretchy waistband. They wear like iron and are very comfortable. About $60-$70 for the trousers, except Amazon sometimes has them on sale.

For shorts I go with Wrangler ATG's.
They can double as swim trunks if needed.

Ummm, they make aboit 15 different versions of their Firehose pants. Maybe you need to do a little more research. Hoof N Mouth disease.

Duluth products are top notch.

Maybe China, I know they are not made in USA. They did have a "USA Made" section on their web site and if I remember correctly they had a few pairs of socks, stocking caps and some other few accessories, and that was all.

I found an older pair of Columbia PFG convertible pants in Goodwill the other day - no rips/stains. I paid $3.50, new is around $60

Not cheap, but good.

https://www.511tactical.com/ridge-pant.html

They are a cotton/poly blend. The cargo pockets are subtle, but hold most anything any of us could really need. These aren't loose and baggy like some with a more trim jeans like fit, but with a stretchy fabric that moves well when climbing or any activity.

Most people don't really want the truth.

They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

Except for funerals, "purse pants" and "purse shorts are all that I wear away from the house.
Wranglers are my first choice though the ones from "Sportsman's Guide" work also. The "Sportsman's Guide" pants are far thinner material.
Top pocket deep enough for my pocket carry (IF I am wearing that stye clothing, then I am carrying) and side pockets deep enough for what I put there.

I’ve had a couple pair of Diamond Gusset jeans for quite a few years - they’re built really well.

Not cheap, but they are American made.

Don’t know if they have the exact cargo style you’re looking for but I’d say they’re worth a look.

I buy those when Academy marks them down every winter. They are great to wear under your waders when fly fishing in CO & NM.
And comfortable for lounging around the house when it’s too hot for sweat pants. They last forever.

The only other type of “cargo pants” I wear are the Riggs brand work jeans. They are made by Wrangler.
