If anyone has any extra 17wsm laying around they'd want to part with let me know. I'm not brand or weight picky. Picked up a ruger 77/17 in 17wsm and cannot find any ammo for it. Thanks in advance.

Call Alamo Precision Rifles in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. They have some and are anxious to get rid of it.

Blackdog85: Have YOU shot that new to you Ruger 77/17 WSM? If yes, how does it perform? I am interested in getting one myself but haven't come across the right deal yet. I will keep my eye out for ammo for you. Good luck in your search. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

VarmitGuy when I got my 77/17 it shot ok but not great. I bedded the action and 2" of the barrel which helped quite a bit and I put pressure point at end of stock because I removed factory bump chasing accuracy. It really improved when I had the smith cut and recrown the 24" barrel down to 20"

Sig I gave them a holler they wanted $21/bx plus shipping Just checked pricing at Midway to see how Alamo's pricing compared and $21 is cheaper than every offering Midway has, even they don't have any in inventory. I believe $21 is a decent buy as you'll have to pay shipping anywhere.

I have not got to shoot it yet and it's driving me crazy. I might buy some of the $21 a box stuff tomorrow. This is looking like a tough round to find ammo for. I appreciate everyone's input so far!

I have the 77/17 WSM with the factory Green Mountain stock. It's not what I'd call a tack driver, but it shoots well enough. I get about 3/4 moa with the Fed AE 20 grain stuff. I've been keeping an eye out for ammo for a while and it has been scarce. I believe it will be scarce until probably fall. The cases are based on the 25 caliber nail gun blanks and I expect the brass comes off the same production machinery which makes the supply as susceptible to changes in demand in the construction industry as in the firearms industry.
