Jeeze, I think I said it all in the post. Anyway, I have a CZ 527 Lux in .223 with a 23.5 inch barrel and a 1x12 twist. I understand that the 55 grain bullet is ideal for the 1x12 twist. I have some .224 Sierras flatbased bullets. What would be a good, no, a real good powder to start experimenting with to see if this rifle likes 55 grain bullets with a Sierra name on them. Thanks for any help ... Tom Purdom

26.6 grains of W748...

Seat the bullets a caliber's depth into the case (.22" or so)

Then come back and tell me how right I was...

Either the W-748 load shown above or 25.0 or 25.5 gr of H-335. Shoots great in my cz 527 American.

Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.

Thanks all. I have several loads to try now. Nathaniel: the trigger on the CZs are very adjustable. It is a single set trigger. You activate the set by pushing the single trigger forward. On regular setting I have both my CZ 550 American in 7x57mm and my CZ 527 American tuned to about 3#. The set weight is a whisper. Both break glass smooth and are very good triggers. The rifles themselves are exceptional values, and accurate as all get-out (my 7x57mm goes from .5 inch to .216 inch three shot groups with the velocity in the 2,815-2,855 fps range with the 162 grain Hornady SST) If you have any further questions or would like to find a good place to purchase one of these, e-mail me. I don't make any money from recommendations, nor do I get any break from doing this. I just like to pass on good info when I am treated right. My favorite 223 load is 27.7 gr of W748, Winchester brass, Federal 205 match primers, and 50 grain Nosler Ballistic tips.
