I took the yak up into Matlacha Pass FL and hunted for tarpon. Busted out the 12wt for the first time in about 8 years. I did find a tarpon to throw at. No hook up. I took the time to practice cast that 12wt. I need a lot of more casting practice. Different deal out of a yak. Its pretty much a sight casting game so being low doesnt help. Im guessing if I hook up once this season I will be doing ok. I might toss a 10 wt next week. Pretty good challenge.

Hope to get into one of those before my time is up. I'm sure it's a tough deal being that low in the water, but good luck.

Hoping to get out to give them tarpon another try. I think I will throw my 10wt at them. Back there in Matlacha Pass I don't think the tarpon are huge. 40-60 lbs are what I see being caught mostly. Be easier than casting that 12wt.
