The doors were designed to resist breaching, the key situation went fubar, what I haven’t heard addressed yet are the windows, if any.
I will note with regards to accuracy or lack thereof the story says Arredondo was packing a “Glock .22 handgun”.
"...if the gentlemen of Virginia shall send us a dozen of their sons, we would take great care in their education, instruct them in all we know, and make men of them." Canasatego 1744
His rendition of what happened is, well... self serving and doesn't address more significant failures on his part.
The school district's answer? Hire more police. Like 2 or 3 more standing outside the classroom would have made a difference? I think in total there were like 19 cops in hallway.
I really don't see how Arredondo can look people in the eye in that town. Much less serve as a city councilman, and retain his position as school police chief.
Bull s hit, they had a mother that ran into that school and grabbed her kids from two separate class rooms while the officers had their dicks in their hands.

Even a basic centralized key control system location would have worked.
A simple finger touch code control box.
Keys colored to corresponding color on locks.......
So feelings didnt get hurt cause "keys are power" and make someone important to some in their minds is what this boils down to in a way in the giant fuuuuck up of events that day.
Many on here know of what I speak of with key control dynamics.

I don't disagree with you.
But the way that is portrayed is maybe a bit different than the reality.
Yes, she got her kids out of a different classroom, in a different bldg, while the shooter was pinned down in another.
Not making light of what she did at all. Just saying the school is comprised of many buildings.
Confirming doors and windows are locked and functional?
Keeping an eye peeled for bad guys?
Is that it?
That, and dealing with the thugs going to school daily.
Like the one who murdered to kids. That little evil fugger KNEW how the school system worked there, and purposely targeted the elementary school because he knew most of the SRO's were busy with thugs at the high school and jr. High.
FWIW, school districts who have their own police want to have control over what kids are arrested and prosecuted. That's why they don't want real cops in their schools, because the school district doesn't want the kids to actually have consequences for their actions.

I dunno. We had a discussion with local chief. When SRO was hitting on our underage daughter when a high school freshman. Seems he was making a hobby out of it.
Apparently, that incident got me, yet again, out of jury duty.

Several officers went right in. The key situation was what it was, can’t breach the doors. The next obvious thing was windows, both as a point of access and to prevent the shooter from shooting people outside.
Still haven’t heard anything about that. Could be they were small and high up or absent entirely.
