Everybody is ticked off because PedoBiden couldn't find a way to get 10% from all that money being thrown around. Nobody gives a schitt about Ukraine being the biggest organized crime racket in Ye Olde Europe.

It's about money. Both sides. Talk of human rights is pure bullshiite. They offered Tiger almost a billion just to show up. The money has to be that high to get people to overlook them using a bone saw to cut up a journalist. The Saudi's are sportswashing. The purse for this week is 20m there. They've paid many hundreds of millions to get the mid tier and lower tier golfers from the PGA to be there. You over pay to cover up the skeleton in the closet. China
Broncos are officially the worst team in the nation this year.

Because we occupy the Moral High Ground? How many political prisoners do we have locked up right now? Never claimed we did but the PGA isn't sponsored/funded by the US Government - LIV IS sponsored and funded by the Saudi Govt. You can play on the PGA and the idiocy in DC isn't connected to them. You can not do so in LIV.

"The answers here are correct as far as players being “independent contractors.” HOWEVER, when they accept a PGA Tour card, they also have signed an obligation to play on PGA Tour events. IF there is another tournament that is directly opposite a PGA Tour event, a player must ASK FOR AND RECEIVE a clearance by the PGA to play in that tournament. Players are allowed to do that for up to three events and they must play a minimum of 15 events to maintain their PGA Tour card.
That card does do a great deal for the players. It allows them to participate in a pension program, grants them access to major tournaments around the world that are sanctioned by the PGA, and earns them nice sponsorship money for their efforts (event the lowest ranked player on the PGA Tour has a minimal sponsorship from clubs, balls, footwear, etc. - it may not be much, but the player isn’t paying for it).
The players who defected to the Bone Saw League gave up all of that by not seeking the permissions or by outright resigning their tour cards before the start of the Bone Saw League’s London event. The players who have defected have basically said “money is more important than purpose.”

I realize the money is a huge draw. The Arabs are doing the same thing with Sporting Clays and FITASC.
I think that most PGA players value the history of the game and their legacy and accomplishments in PGA Golf just as much, if not more, than the cash. Winning Major Championships is what they're after and their place in Golf history against the Legends of the game. Anything that happens in the sand box is meaningless except for the compensation
The people wringing their hands over Trump's rhetoric don't know what time it is in America.

The only major they aren’t going to be able to play in is the PGA which is the least prestigious of the majors. They’ll still be able to play in all the others. Golf is like any other job, you do it for the money.

LIV will survive like CNN survives neither will earn a penny, but will be supported for its losses and player payouts by Saudi Oil money. A drop in the bucket, just as CNN and ATT. They have enough slush to run the crap forever with no profit, especially the Saudis and LIV.
LIV is for the older players, DJ leaving is honest greed, no judgement by me. Bottom line PGA will be fine as Tiger turned down $750M for LIV and his fellow PGA members follow him like he’s the Pope. Besides the youngest and the best players in the world play on the PGA Tour, no one is going to care about old washed up players competing, viewers will be watching the best players each week compete on the PGA Tour because that’s where the best players in the world play.

So why are they allowed to play on the Japanese, European, etc tours? I have not read all of it but it seems the PGA wants to monopolize the best players. the PGA cant compete with Saudi Money.. and besides it comes from oil and O GA cant be seen to beOK with Fossil (bio) fuels even though their fleets of zero turns all use it..

Seems like a lot of the opposition is due to the killing of a journalist. Wonder when the press will ask hard questions about events in China?
Also, unless the PGA announced a ban, it won’t affect that major since the PGATour is separate from the PGA.

The only thing notable about that stupid game are the hot chicks that wear those little shorts or skirts. And Happy Gilmore. Otherwise it’s as lame as shuffleboard

PGA isn't monopolizing anything. They simply state if you play for them, you can't play for us.
JMO Other sports have been sued for taking the same position and lost on anti trust grounds. So it could get interesting Which? I'm curious and would like to read it. Never understood why a private company (PGA) can't state who can/can not represent their brand as independent contractors (which the players are) so long as it's not based upon a protected class. There are other options to these players. Non-competes happen all the time and are enforceable. How does that jive with this? Don’t have the cite but it was the big tennis league back in the late 80s. Same situation with a new league starting up they tried to ban people who played in the new league

These guys are getting $200 million to play. The winner of this tournament will win $4 million. DFL gets $120k. The money is damned near impossible to turn down.

This ^^^^^^^^ ... The Winner will make more money per hole than the average American family in a year. Even the last place player will make 2x the money of the average American family in just 3 days. Sorry, but my G-A-S is broken....
