243win using 80gr ttsx,user reviews on this combo only,what expansion did yall get don't want a pencil thru

Never caught one, but by wound channel/exits, I’d say they were expanding very similar to the classic “X” picture you see on Barnes site and advertisements.
Worked fine for me, much faster kills if you put them in the shoulder or neck vs lungs.

My nephew shot a doe at 50 yards with one. Took out the top of the lungs and broke the off shoulder on the way out. Complete pass through. The deer stumbled off behind an embankment and died.

Shot 5 deer so far with that bullet. Never had one stay in a deer and all were impressive performance. One ran 50 yards, one went 30, and the other 3 went 3 feet- straight down. 3 were behind the shoulder lung shots. Blood trails were quite heavy for a 6mm bullet. It has always performed like a larger cartridge when using the 80 ttsx. Shot a couple ranch rams with it as well. Those were both lung shots. Both went stiff on their feet before taking a step or two and going belly up.
