I'm a firm believer that "PAPER DOESN'T LIE" and therefore I pattern everything that I shoot.
I find a load that's going the speed that I like and then find a choke that will pattern it well out to 40 yards.
Is there anyone else out there that patterns their waterfowl ammo?
Thanks, bowhunter57
Guns cause crime, like silverware causes Rosie O'Donnell to be fat.

i patterned my gun before, haven't done it in two years, though. my recipe is simple: 3 1/2" BBB federal through a 28" barrel out a mod. choke. goose killer for me. this is what patterned good for me before.
Hunting is not a matter of life or death. It is much more important than that.

I only pattern my turkey loads. I probably SHOULD pattern duck & goose loads, too.

I've never done a paper pattern test for my 12 gauge that I use for waterfowl. 30+ ducks in two days worth of work, I see no reason to.

Yes I do and I'm glad that do. I have found that in my Beretta with the IC choke it shoots middle of the target and slightly to the left of center but, with the PatternMaster choke it shoots high and center. I just pattern my new Win 1300 and with the modified it shoots center but, very high. So I just ordered a IC for it. And will pattern that, hopefully it will shoot in the middle.
