Real Mexican vanilla is good. We have a bottle of real vanilla from Haiti. It has a very distinct vanilla flavor so I cut back a little. I’m still searching for my perfect vanilla.

Real Mexican vanilla is good. We have a bottle of real vanilla from Haiti. It has a very distinct vanilla flavor so I cut back a little. I’m still searching for my perfect vanilla. If I get motivated here I'll pull up my vanilla files from a old hard drive that's laying around here some where. Mexicans had the market cornered for a long, long time and for very good reason.

I make my own vanilla extract out of a pint of Tito's vodka and a handful of Madagascar vanilla beans. Super easy to make.
