I was riding my Sportster up HWY 285 one time, came to a big mess in the road. Looked like green seaweed slime with entrails and organs mixed in. Guy T-boned an elk at pretty good speed on his Honda Goldwing. The Goldwing was laying there with the top of the fairing gone, the handlebars bent all the way back. I fishtailed a little when I hit the slime and at the same time saw the rider sitting on the embankment smoking a cigarette. When he saw me recover, he cracked a grin. The elk was gone!
Many years ago we had one motorcyclist behead himself on the guardrail during his high speed accident. It took the cops about 1/2hr to find the helmet complete with contents in the adjoining bush gulley in the dark. A dog would've found it quicker I reckon.

That's a bold assertion. Point out where you think I lied.
We still kill bikers on a regular basis by my house. About 2 wrecks a week, a death a month or so, sometimes more. Old farts on their Harley three wheelers really get their azzes tossed when they flip them. I go check them all out, it's like a sporting event.
Saw a young guy hit the divider on the crosstown expressway, hit so hard his body and bike came to a stop his head and helmet kept going into the oncoming traffic side where I was, watched the cop pick up his head and helmet. The news said he was going at least a 130.

I used to hunt whitetail deer across the border in Mexico, back when it was somewhat safe. One day we went into town to buy groceries, I think it was Sabinas Mexico. Guy on an old Honda 125 or similar passed us on the shoulder with no helmet running that little motorcycle for all it was worth.
Maybe a mile down the road we came to a stop light, he was laying face up on the side of the road. Looked dead as a door nail to me. He was an accident waiting to happen and it did.

Never got a road bike but wanted one the other year. Same year they started putting in cable median barriers. Saw on the news a guy hit one and wasnt much left of him. That changed my tune of wanting a bike.
