I've read a lot of conflicting stuff online on ROA BP revolvers and percussion caps. I know some folks have their favorite caps (Remington, RWS, etc.) but right now it seems beggars can't be choosers, and all I can put my hands on is 1k CCI #10s. I posted this question on muzzleloadingforum.com, but it's hung up, "awaiting moderator approval."

Skeen - the factory nipple is supposed to take either a #10 or #11 - per page 12 of my Ruger Old Army manual.
That said - it will come down your revolver having factory nipples or replacements, having been dry fired enough that the nipple is flattened and mushroomed, or shot enough to have the same flattening.
YMMV - but buying a set of #10 nipples shouldn't break the bank, it's a 12/28 thread.

I've looked at Slixshot and Treso replacement nipples - they both recommend Remington #10s or CCI #11s. And, man, I've been using 209's for so long, I hadn't realized how crazy the market has gotten for good ol' percussion caps. Guys are asking crazy money for a tin of 100 Remington #10s on GB.

Well, I inked up for a 1,000 CCI #10s for $150 shipped. If they fit, great, if not, well, I've blown $150 bucks on dumber things.

Don't sweat it. If those CCI # 10 caps are too small just chuck the nipples in your drill and fill them down a little while turning them.
I had to do the same on my Remington because CCI brand is all I could get. I now have two sets of nipples for that revolver.
