Would screwing the front sight up help? Is it possible on that model?

I like it. Have fun.
Bill Clinton motivated me to join the AK47 Club back in 1994.

Would screwing the front sight up help? Is it possible on that model? When I did the 100 yard zero, I set the rear sight to '1', and made all elevation and windage adjustments via the front sight. I could raise the front sight to zero at further distance, but then I would be low at 100 by several inches. I believe it's a matter of soviet doctrine that the rifle is intended for hitting torso's out to 300 meters, and using the belt buckle hold within 200 yards. The BZO essentially is a 18/247 meter zero, with max elevation deviation of not more than than 7 inches above/below line of sight. American methods are more towards hitting at our point of aim, and I'm accustomed to that. I'll most likely add on a Primary Arms 3X prism with the ACSS reticle to satisfy that type of shooting, and leave the irons set to the soviet battlesight zero.

Bill Clinton motivated me to join the AK47 Club back in 1994. I hear ya. In '94 Clinton motivated me to join Team Glock, with purchases of the model 17, 21, and 22 (all Gen 2). Around '95 or so I picked up a Glock 20 (Gen 2), but traded it off within a couple years due to the spooky looking bulges in the fired cases. I think that has since been sorted out.

I'll tell you one thing that really hit me.
After the range session, I popped off the dust cover, and pulled the spring and bolt/carrier.
No carbon mess that is normal in an AR. That is easy to like.

Good post. Someone stated earlier that quality varies. What would be a good quality AK with tradition wood?

Good post. Someone stated earlier that quality varies. What would be a good quality AK with tradition wood? The Zastava rifles seem to be well regarded. https://atlanticfirearms.com/Zastava-R7762SR-ZPAPM70-AK47-Serbian-Redhttps://atlanticfirearms.com/ak-47-74-rifles?criteria%5Bmanufacturer%5D=203

Nice, I picked up a PSAK GF3 with the same furniture a while ago. I like the gun but that Magpul Zhukov stock pops me in the cheek pretty good with each shot. Might be a "me" problem, but I need to find another folding stock that at fits me better. I had the same issue. I put an eotech on it which gets my cheek bone off the stock and that took care of the issue for me.

I put one of these up front, https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-ak-tank-brake.html
