Getting the M/L itch and am struggling to find components. Are there any No 11 caps around?

I bought a pack of 250 Schutzen (I think) at my LGS a few months ago. Wasn’t even looking, but rather buying a used Renegade. Another guy came in and asked for them, so I bought some too. Might be easier to find musket caps if your gun will accept a nipple for them.

your best bet is to buy the setup to make them from aluminum cans.
takes some work and a learning curve but they work quite well .

get the prime all to go with the capmaker and one order makes around 1500 caps. or 1200 magnum caps like i make!

That’s where I was headed until I found those I mentioned. Probably have 500 or so now. Will take a long time to use those up on a single-shot pistol. Might still try it just for fun.

i have converted to flintlock on most of my front loaders. not so much because of a cap shortage but because i tend to be a slob and spent caps find a way into the bottom of the wifes foot or into her vacuum. even with ear muffs on i can hear when that happens! blush

To be clear, is what you hear your wife or the cap? Both?

Make your own? Interesting, need to look into that. Has anyone actually tried one of these cap makers? Thanks.

Well I ordered a No. 11 Die and the Prime All. Youtube videos make it look pretty easy. Time will tell.
