I have an 1899 that was shipped to the J.H. Ashdown Hardware Co. in 1916 according to the records. Would anyone know if that's a frequently found destination in the records? I did some online searching about the company and found some basic information and images. I was wondering if anyone else has researched it or found anything especially noteworthy. Thanks.

Looks like it was in Winnipeg? I can't say that I recall seeing any letters for guns going there.

Quick search so lots of info for James Henry Ashdown.
Prominent businessman in Winnipeg and started Ashdown Hardware.
Interesting fellow.

Probably just one of the many hardware stores Savage distributed through at that time. The Winnipeg/Ashdown history is interesting.
Anything noteworthy about the rifle? Model? Caliber?

Thanks for the replies and the links. No, nothing special order or anything about the rifle. I was just looking for more about the J.H. Ashdown Hardware Co. and want to be thorough.
