Battue ol buddy. That is not common with a Mcmillan on it. How much do you want for the Hoppes front rest though?

Pull the Leupold QD's off and sell them yourself. I just sold a set for $36. They don't add any value to the rifle. Then a prospective buyer can get a good look at the top of the receiver too. 1 picture is not going to cut it either.. Especially one that does not show if it has the sight, front hood, wear on bottom metal and trigger guard, condition of the stock, crown, etc. Picture of the bolt face is a good one to show as well. The 1 picture given, I can't even sneak in and see when it was made, based on the serial number..

New pics help. Looks like a 1960 model. How original is the wood stock? You may be better off putting it back in the wood stock and selling it that way and then sell the Mcmillan separately.

I would say that is $1,100 in the wood if you put original swivels on it. Sell the McMillan and bases separate.

Yep, that's priced about right @ $1600 for the package.

No, he doesn’t want to go to $1600. He has been bugging me for sometime. I finally said OK this is it.

I put it back and said don’t ask anymore…. I’ll keep it.

Good man. I wouldn't go less either. I just saw a 1959 30-06 featherweight tonight. They wanted $1,200.00 for it and it didn't have any finish left on the floorplate and the stock was refinished. Your rifle is very nice and easily worth $1,600.00 with the Mcmillan. I also think that stock would be an easy sell for you. The rifle with the original stock would probably be a better option for selling just the rifle. I'd give you $400 for the Mcmillan, if you decide to go that route..

battue, McMillan no longer sells that stock. My son ordered one, they were out of stock said they would call when they made another run, then several months later called and told him they were no longer going to produce them for pre 64s. Gave him the number of a ex employee who buys blanks and fits them to what ever rifle you have.

I other words that Mcmillan stock has some value for sure now.

One of those that migrated to the back of the safe. The floor plate has a couple obvious dings. The trigger guard, while for some reason looks bad in the pic, is actually almost perfect. The blueing on the rifle is the same, an honest 95%+. The original wood you would look hard to find better.

He balked and wanted to deal, and actually having it back in hand said to myself you also are not getting it for $1600.

Yes it was definitely great condition in the original configuration. I am not a fan of plastic and have no idea of it's value.
