I thought about one, but couldn't find one to fondle. Went with a BAR instead.
It might be lonely at the top, but it's a bitch at the bottom.

I watched my hunting partner drop a mule deer with it at 565yards in Idaho. Used a rangefinder. It was in .30-06. He got bored with it and sent it to JRS reboring in Oregon and turned it into a .338-06, he loves it. He say’s that’s his brush gun. Lot’s of power with 210 grain Barnes TSX tips. It’s very reliable and quality built. Some how the semi auto rifles never caught on. Look at Benelli shotguns and their performance the last 30 years. They know how to build them and don’t think for a second that their R1 did not copy their engineering. You live once.

So how’s the trigger? That’s usually the fly in the ointment with semis.
What fresh Hell is this?

Its A very nice semi-auto back a few years ago when I looked at them. I like the new BAR Mark III a lot more. It is easier to service, parts are everywhere and reasonable and it is lighter and probably more accurate.
Most dealers in a 200 mile circle from my home do not even have an R1 to look at . I know a dealer that has 3 of them in the magnum cartridges, they have a duratouch issue and he is selling them for a few hundred under MSRP. You will have to do something with the stocks.

I looked at a new BAR with an extended detachable magazine sort of a knock off on an AR ,felt very clumsy The older BAR’s entirely different story I used to see stacks of them a dime a dozen and never pulled the trigger now when I am looking around it’s rare to see one

Had a blued/walnut one in 308 Win. Can't attest on the interchangeable barrels, but this one shot factory ammo very well. Not a target gun, but a pretty respectable hunting rifle. With premium fodder, it would keep MOA all day long. My hunting partner fell in love with it, so it lives at his house now.
