Got a new to me .30-06 that I intend to load up with 180gr partitions for elk this fall. I have both of these powders on hand. Any advantage to one over the other?

Tag.
I've been meaning to do the same comparison. I'm guessing it'll be tough to beat H4350's temperature stability.
It's you and the bullet, and all the rest is secondary.

It’s unclear from your title if you mean IMR4350 or H4350? IMR4350 is not as temp stable as H4350 or IMR4451 (Enduron).
All will work, but IMO all are a little fast burning for 180s. For 165s, those are great powders.
RL26 @ 2920 fps from 24” bbl has been a winner for me.

The 4350 I have on hand is IMR. I don’t have any RL26 but will keep an eye out for it.

Have used IMR4451 considerably in cartridge/bullet combinations where I have also used both H4350 and IMR4350. Found 4451 worked at least as well, and often better, both in accuracy and velocity. The velocity part is probably due to 4451 being a double-based powder, rather than single-based like both H4350 and IMR4350. (That added touch of nitroglycerin does provide some extra zip.) 4451 also contains a decoppering agent, unlike either of the 4350s. The present load I use in my New Ultra Light Arms .30-06 is 56.0 grains of IMR4451 with the 175-grain Barnes LRX--which is the maximum charge listed by Hodgdon with the 175-grain Sierra HPBT. The first 3-shot group at 100 yards measured right around half an inch, and it's shot the same way ever since. Velocityfrom the NULA's 24" barrel is a little over 2800 fps.

Thanks I'll give the 4451 a go. Any thoughts on IMR 4955 for the same application? Looks like Hogdon is showing a little more speed with it in their data and I have some of that as well.

That just may be my "Plan B" load if my forever load of 57 grains of H4350 / 180 grain bullet in my .30-06 ever becomes difficult to source. Think I'll go get a 1 lb...
